Muzzy Lane has been a leader in learning-game design and development since our start in 2002. We are developing game projects with partners including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, DARPA, K12, Emerson College, and others. Our team includes experienced designers, educators, talented engineers, 3D artists and animators. We work with design principles based on research and our own testing and experience.

Our Sandstone platform enables us to deliver immersive 3D games in the web browser as a web service, and provides other educationally-oriented features designed to help serious games succeed. Games for the BGB project will be delivered to the student through the Sandstone Web Service, which delivers 3D games in the browser as an always-on service

Contract User Interface Artist/Designer for Serious Games studio

Muzzy Lane Software is looking for a talented user-interface artist/designer to develop user-interfaces for upcoming projects. The position will be a contract position initially, but with a possibility to become staff if project workload is sufficient. As UI Artist, you will work with our design and development teams to design and create user interface panels and artwork for our games.

Backend Services Programmer

Muzzy Lane Software is looking for a programmer to build and maintain backend services that integrate game websites with our browser-based 3D games. Candidates would be responsible for maintaining and improving our existing service stack which includes a game server management service, a game content distribution system, a browser plugin, web-based admin tools, and an HTTP-based API for web sites to interact with the service.

Web Programmer

Muzzy Lane Software is looking for a Web Programmer to build backend web services to integrate game websites with our browser-based 3D games. This primarily involves communicating with game servers and clients using common web protocols, storing game data in a persistent manner, and creating front end web pages that present the 3D game via a browser plugin.

C++ System Programmer

Write C++ code as individual contributor in a collaborative environment, lead tasks, and provide technical input.

Game User Interface Developer

Produce user interfaces for Muzzy Lane’s game projects.

Muzzy Lane Summer Internships 2012

Muzzy Lane will have a small number of internships available this summer. These internships are appropriate for college or graduate students looking for work experience with a busy Serious Games studio. Serious Games Designer

Muzzy Lane Software is looking a Game Designer to work with our team on game design, instructional design, and content for upcoming projects. As Game Designer, you will work with clients and subject-matter-experts to develop learning objectives. Then, you will work with our team to develop game designs and mechanics that deliver those objectives (and are inspired by them.) Finally, you’ll work with our artists and development team and internal and external testers to turn the designs into finished games.

Game Producer / Designer for Muzzy Lane

Muzzy Lane Software is looking for a Producer with some design interest and experience to work with our team on the production of learning-game projects. You will direct the production of assigned projects, working with our designers and small project teams of engineers, content specialists, and artists. You will be responsible for maintaining and communicating schedules and budgets and keeping the project on track. In addition, you will coordinate with outside project partners and clients, and work with our designers and subject matter experts on project learning objectives.

Game Programmer

Muzzy Lane Software is looking for a Game Programmer to implement gameplay interactions, systems, and user interfaces, working with Muzzy Lane’s Sandstone development tools. It's an excellent opportunity for a recent grad to immediately take on an important role creating games.
