Web Programmer

Muzzy Lane Software is looking for a Web Programmer to build backend web services to integrate game websites with our browser-based 3D games. This primarily involves communicating with game servers and clients using common web protocols, storing game data in a persistent manner, and creating front end web pages that present the 3D game via a browser plugin.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement backend web services in Python that interact with game servers and local games to track player progress and direct the overarching game experience
  • Implement front end web applications utilizing Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Implement web pages that interact with our 3D game browser plugin via JavaScript to download game content and run 3D games

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience building backend web services
  • Experience with Python web services is not required but a huge plus
  • An understanding of HTTP and SSL at the protocol level
  • A working knowledge of SQL databases
  • Experience with NoSQL databases or Cassandra is a plus
  • Must have good analytical, written presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
