Backend Services Programmer

Muzzy Lane Software is looking for a programmer to build and maintain backend services that integrate game websites with our browser-based 3D games. Candidates would be responsible for maintaining and improving our existing service stack which includes a game server management service, a game content distribution system, a browser plugin, web-based admin tools, and an HTTP-based API for web sites to interact with the service.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new features and services that intregate with our existing service stack
  • Maintain existing Python backend services running on Linux and Windows
  • Deploy new versions of maintained and developed services

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • An understanding of HTTP and SSL at the protocol level
  • A working knowledge of SQL databases
  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Python web services
  • Experience with browser plugins is a plus
  • Experience with NoSQL databases or Cassandra is a plus
  • C++ experience is a plus
  • Must have good analytical, written presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
